Thanks For Being You

I have a real quick card to share with you tonight. It's late. I'm tired and I ate too much at dinner. I can hear the bed calling my name.

I've wanted to enter the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge for months now.

Why I haven't done it yet I can't really say but I decided tonight was the night. I chose an older stamp from their Pure Innocence line and went to coloring.

My Copic coloring is a work in progress. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it's better than 6 months ago but it's not where near where I want to be! I'll get there one day though thru much practice. After I colored her, I used various die cuts to create the sketch.

I embossed the greeting with white embossing powder and cut it in a banner shape. I added some white dots with my gel pen to the heart and her hair bow.

I'm really trying to not let the harsh lines of her pink shirt affect me. I have been known to tear a project up and completely redo it. I'll just go with its a tie dye effect and you'll never know the difference, right?

Thanks for stopping by today. As always, the products used will listed and linked below.

Have a great night!

Celebrate Today And Everyday

Happy weekend! I am spending it with one of my crafty best friends and we are having a blast. We usually spend more time gabbing than creating but are really getting a lot done this time. Catching up on design team work and making much needed birthday cards.

The January release at Winnie and Walter went live this morning. You can find all of the new products here. The January Leading Lady is Taheerah Atchia and she is unbelievably talented. Please make some time to check out all of her work on her blog.

She has a challenge called Curing the Monday Blues and I decided to play along this week.

The colors are neon but I didn't quite have those bright colored inks. I went with Sugar Plum, Fizz, and Mint to Be from Avery Elle along with Lollipop from Mama Elephant. They aren't "in your face" bright but they worked pretty well.

I just love the lanterns from the Avery Elle Bunting stamp set. They look so cute hanging on the string. I popped some up on dimensionals while gluing the rest flat. I would never be able to tie cute bows so the die cuts are perfect!

The bottom portion was made using a border stamp from the Avery Elle Celebrate stamp set and then die cut the top using the Avery Elle Dotted Borders Die. I popped it up on dimensionals as well. The sentiment is also from the Celebrate stamp set and stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink.

I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to a few of the lanterns and all of the black bows. I can't wait to send this to someone for their next birthday!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

Have a great day,
