Paper Sweeties August Inspiration Challenge #34 - Happy Birthday

Hello friends!

It's the 1st of this month and time for another Inspiration Challenge at Paper Sweeties! We are turning 3 years old and having a celebration the whole month of August and would love for you to join us!

For the August Inspiration Challenge we are using beautiful subtle colors to inspire you to create!

When I thought about what I was going to use to create my card I realized I didn't have any cupcake stamps or dies. I honestly don't have any birthday or celebration ones either. Looks like I need to place an order soon, hee hee! So here is how I fixed my little crafty problem....

For the top of my cupcake, I used a cloud stamp from the Showering You With Love stamp set and colored it with Spun Sugar distress ink. For the bottom of the cupcake, I used a planter from Garden Time cutting it shorter and coloring it with Old Paper distress ink. I couldn't believe it when I finished that it really does look like a cupcake!!

I used Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters to create my background. A piece of water color paper and some water makes beautiful things. I die cut the word Wish three times and stacked up on top of each other for dimension. I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to color over the word and the top of the cupcake to give it some shimmer.

Hope this inspired you to look at your stamps in other ways than they are intended. As I hear it say all the time... stretch your stamps. I now have a cupcake out of a cloud and garden planter so if I can do it so can you!!

Please take a moment to check out what the rest of the DT members have created to inspire you!
