Essentials by Ellen Holiday 2015 Release Hop

Hello crafters!

Welcome to the Essentials by Ellen Holiday 2015 Release Hop! In my post today,  I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies. They are all amazing and are going to be my go-to sets for the holiday season!! You should have arrived here on my blog after visiting Sharon Harnist

The two sets that I am showcasing today is Mondo Poinsettia and Elf'd!

For my card, I used my Zig Clean Color Water Brush markers to water color in the poinsettia and leaves creating some light and dark for added dimension. I applied glossy accents to the middle of the flower and brushed on some bling using my Wink of Stella clear glitter marker. The sentiment comes from a set called Christmas Scribbles released last year but I thought went perfectly with this card. I see this flower used A LOT this upcoming Christmas season. It is simply beautiful!!

My next card is so fun and has a lot of awesome texture!

I decided to pull out some different mixed media since it isn't something I reach for often. I colored my background with blue and pink gelatos. I love the way it looks on the texture of the distress paper.  I had a bottle of Glass Bead Glitter Gel sitting in my stash and decided it was time to put it to use. I applied it using a stencil so it gave even more texture to the card.

When I saw all of the individual images of syrup and candy I knew immediately I had to make a shaker card. My oldest loves the movie Elf and I made the card with him in mind for a fun Christmas card. I colored all of the images and the elf with my Copics to match the background as close as possible. The sentiments are some of my absolute favorite!!

There are so many fun ways I can think of to use this set and I can't wait to create more!!

So what's the best part about this hop?? I am giving away an Elf'd stamp set to one lucky winner. 7. Angel,

Your poinsettia card is lovely, but I was blown away by the elf card you created. As much as I love the traditional Christmas colors, I think this color choice was so retro and fantastic! Your son is gonna love this. Thanks so much for your inspiration, you've given me lots of great ideas for using this fabulous new release!

    Hugs,
    Maureen
