Paper Sweeties July Inspiration Challenge #33 - Red, White & Blue

Hello sweeties!! It's time for a new inspiration challenge at Paper Sweeties! The colors this time around are my absolute favorite color combo!!

I had so much fun making my card for this challenge. When it comes to these colors picking an idea is usually the hardest for me. I have so many that come to mind.

I used some patterned paper from a patriotic paper pad that I had for my back ground. I used a star from the At The Beach set and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next I adhered a strip of red patterned paper to the left of the card and stapled a piece of ribbon down the middle of the paper. I cut a rectangle piece out of white card stock and distressed the edges with some Aged Mahogany distress ink.

I heat embosssed flowers from the Pretty Posies stamp set with white embossing powder and then colored them in with Aged Mahogany ink. The flower pot was was die cut from the Garden Time set and decorated with an oval from the Home Tweet Home set. I distressed the pot with Faded Jeans distress ink. The sentiment and sign is also from Garden Time stamped and distressed with Faded Jeans.

I absolutely love the card ended up turning out. It is just so simple and cute if I might say so myself :)

I hope that you can join us in our challenge and use the colors to inspire us. Check out the rest of the design team to be blown away by their inspirations!

  9. Your card is so cute... the paper looks almost like fabric and I love your distressing... I like the effect of the ribbon the way you attached it too... and it really makes your eyes feel like all of the pieces are fabric...
