Today I have post for a new challenge that is starting over at the Color Me...! Challenge blog.
Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, gray, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.
This week we are using Marina Mist & Daffodil Delight... have fun!
It took me a while to figure out what stamp set(s) I wanted to use for this one. Maybe that is why it took me so long to figure something out. I have so many stamp sets. I just need to alphabetize them and use them one by one so I can say I've used them all. I'll add that to my list of to-dos.
Anyway, back to my card... I decided to go with stamp sets from Paper Smooches and Winnie & Walter to create an adorable birthday card.
The chick is stamped using Versafine black onyx ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then colored in using Daffodil Delight ink from Stampin Up and Walnut Stain distress ink. I used a water brush to give it a water color feel. I didn't want the colors too bright and the water helped soften the look.
Next, I stamped the birthday hat with Marina Mist ink from Stampin Up and the outline of the hat in Memento black ink. I colored over the lines with a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. The ballon was stamped in Versafine black ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a shiny look. Both sentiments were also stamped with Versafine black ink and set using clear embossing powder.
My card base is cutting to a standard 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 top folding card using card stock from WPlus9. The yellow polka dot paper is from an Echo Park paper pad and die cut using dies from Winnie & Walter. The blue card stock is Marina Mist from Stampin Up. Once everything was assembled I finished up the card by adding white dot designs and applying glossy accents to the chicks eyes.
All of the supplies used can be found listed and linked below. I hope this card has inspired you to join us in this challenge. Please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts by leaving me a comment. I do love to hear from my blog readers.
Have a great day,
