Love You Always

Happy Afternoon!

I have a few minutes to share a card that I made the other night that turned out so beautifully! I love distress inks and how they work with water. It just makes the most amazing effects on projects.

I used Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers for my background. The two colors blended together so well. I then used Unicorn White ink to create a bokeh effect. The circles came from a stamp set from the Essentials by Ellen line called Bokeh Circles and it's one of my favorites. I then rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers corner rounder to mimic the circles.

Now pink is not the first color I would've reached for with blues but I am playing along with the challenge at the Curtain Call Challenge and these are the inspiration colors. I actually love how all the colors worked so well with each other.

I used my mini blending tool to color the card base with Picked Raspberry. I colored a scrap piece the same color and then die cut the word love from a Winnie & Walter cutaway. I then heat embossed the  sentiment from the matching stamp set in white embossing powder. It pops out from that blue so well.  I adhered the blue panel with foam dimensionals and then sprinkled sequins around the card.

I am truly happy with how it turned out and can't wait to send it to someone special. Sometimes using colors you never would and stepping outside the box isn't so bad after all.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please let me know in the comments what you think about this color combo. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

Have a great day,

Products Used:

  1. Beautiful work with the distress inks! :) Did you blend them onto the background or paint/smoosh them? I love the way it turned out with the bokeh dots!

    1. Thank you Jessica! I smash all the distress inks on my craft mat, spray water and then smoosh my card stock on the colors. I dried in between each application to give it a different look each time. I want to do a video soon on how I achieved the look :)

    2. It's gorgeous...mine never seems to blend that nicely when I smoosh them together...I'll have to try that color combo! :)

Thank you so much for your comments. Hope you will come back soon!
