Seeing these three colors always makes me think of the flag, 4th of July or anything to do with America. I thought outside the box and went with a heart theme since Valentines Day is right around the corner. I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White paper and folded to make a top folding card.
I used the Winnie & Walter Classic Diagonal Creative Screening with Salty Ocean and Barn Door distress inks. The mini ink blending tools work great in these tiny areas.
Next I went with another stencil called Falling Hearts from Simon Says Stamp but this time used embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi to fill in the hearts and give them some dimension. I just love the way some of them pop off the card against the blue and red.
Next I die cut a tag from Pretty Pink Posh called Stitched Tags Die in both vellum and white paper. The sentiment is from an Avery Elle set called Simply Said: Love and it is stamped using StazOn ink which works very well with vellum. I sponged some of the Barn Door distress ink onto a piece of scratch paper and then die cut small hearts from a Lawn Fawn set called Happy Trails. I adhered them to the vellum piece using Multi Matte Medium from Ranger and then applied a layer of glossy accents to add some shine. Then punched a hole at the top of both tags, ran some red thread through it and adhered it to my card with some foam dimensions.
I enjoy being able to use a lot of different supplies from all the companies that I love. They all work together so well and helps create beautiful cards.
I hope that you are able to join in the challenge this week. Please check out what the other DT ladies have created for you to help give you some inspiration.
