CMCC #51 Colour Me Merry

Good morning!

It's a busy day here in the Johns household but I just wanted to share a card that I made for the Colour Me card challenge that is challenging us with a beautiful color combo!

I really really really love these colors together. I love the darker reds and greens for Christmas so these colors were right up my alley! My Always Artichoke and Real Red stamp pad hasn't been used in so long that they were pretty dry. I had to use some elbow grease to get them stamping crisp.

I cut out the tree silhouette using my Cameo machine (Design ID #5027) with Baked Brown Sugar card stock. I then chose 3 sentiments from a Winnie & Walter stamp set called Happy Christmas. If you've followed my blog the past month you know that I love this stamp set! It has so many amazing sentiments for the Christmas season. I masked the tree and stamped the sentiments in the shape of the tree using red and green ink. To highlight the tree, I sponged the edges with Baked Brown Sugar and it really helped it pop!

Originally I wasn't going to make this a shaker card but it just kind of happened. Sequins have a hold over me when it comes to making a card and I'm not upset at all about it. Once the card was all put together I decided to add some decorative ribbon at the bottom of the tree. It's a pretty CAS card that was a lot of fun to make.

Hope you enjoyed this card for today. Please leave me a comment letting me know what you think and if you have any questions. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

FMS #167 & Lawnscaping Challenge 96

Good morning!

There is only 3 more days until Christmas! I love this time of year and I hate that it is slowly coming to an end. The anticipation is so exciting for my boys! I always love their faces when they've realized Santa has come and when they open their presents. Magical time for parents.

For today, I am sharing a card for two different challenges. One is a sketch and the other is all about Christmas.

I love the paper and stamp set from Lawn Fawn that I used to make the card.

The back panel is from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day paper collection. I used a piece of vellum for my next layer. I stamped poinsettias from the Joy to the Woods stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After that I colored them in with colored pencils from Prismacolor.

The other layers are also from the Snow Day paper. The sentiment, birds and music notes were stamped in Memento Jet Black ink on some Neenah Solar White paper cut out with the LF circle dies and colored with Copic markers. I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to color in the scarf and hat on the birds. Birds have to have bling as well, right.

To finish up the card, I popped up the circle panel with some foam tape and used some red thread to add some fun. I can't seem to finish a card without sequins so I used some green ones from Ellen Hutson that are just beautiful. I adhered them with Multi Matte Medium which is just the bomb!

Hope you've enjoyed the card today. Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment. I do love reading comments from my readers like you. Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches and Lawnscaping Challenge blogs to see all of the amazing work done by the Design Teams.
