Grateful For You

Hello!

We woke up this morning to temps in the low 50's and I couldn't be happier! I am so ready for cooler weather and my card will show you that I am ready for the Fall season!

My card for today was made using the sketch from the Pals Paper Arts challenge blog.

Here's my card:

I liked the sketch from the moment I saw it. It's simple yet a little challenging which is what I like.
I started out with a card base using SU Very Vanilla and covered the front using a piece of the Color Me Autumn DSP. I cut a slightly smaller piece of Crushed Curry to act as a base for another piece of Color Me Autumn DSP. For my circle piece, I used Very Vanilla and distressed the edges with Cajun Craze ink to help make it stand out from the busy paper behind it.

To make the pumpkins, foliage and sentiment, I used the SU Fall Fest stamp set using colors Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadows which are just perfect together. I tied a bow around one of the pumpkins using brown twine to finish off the card.

Hope this inspired you and you will also head over to Pals Paper Arts to check out what the design team has showcased for everyone. They have a very talented team!!

Have a great day!

Oh, Hello There

Hello there!

Quickly sharing one more card for another challenge called Colour Me! and this time it is colors! They are using SU colors So Saffron, Pool Party and Blushing Bride.

I am in the Fall mood right now so these colors threw me off a little but I think I was able to show case them pretty well.

I used some rectangle nesting dies to create a frame and then used an alphabet and numbers embossing folder to create dimension on the frame. Inside the frame, I stamped a shelf and clock using Memento Jet Black ink. After that I stamped books and the sentiment using the challenge colors by rotating the colors. To close in the frame and draw your eye to the center I used a black marker to draw around the frame. Finished it off by using some colored enamel dots.

I hope this card inspired you today. If you are interested in doing a few challenges yourself, please check out the Colour Me challenge blog. You will also find a lot of inspiration by their design team!

Check back tomorrow for a Fall inspired card that makes me so happy the season is here! As always, the supplies used will be listed and linked below.

Have a great day,

Angel

You Are My Hero

Hello! Today's card is showcasing papers by October Afternoon and stamps by Mama Elephant. The idea behind the card came from a sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog. It's a simple sketch which allowed me to make the card quickly and easily.
The sketch doesn't require a whole lot of paper or layers so it was easy to come up with something. Although it is simple I feel as though you really have to find a focal point to pop off the page to catch the design teams eye. I decided to make my stamped images the focal point and they are just so cute.

This little boy just melts my heart. He is so adorable even when he isn't colored. To make him come to life, I grabbed some browns and blue Copic Markers and colored him in very simply. I did a little bit of shading but with the images being small there wasn't too much shading to do. After the coloring was done, I die cut both the images along with the rectangle from Lil' Inker Designs. I colored around the outside of the rectangle with a green Copic Marker to give it some added dimension.

I placed all of my papers down, popped up the rectangle piece with foam tape, added the sweet little boy with additional foam tape, stamped my sentiment and finished off with some green sequins. I also rounded the edges at the bottom.

I love how the turtle is looking up at the boy almost telling him that he is his hero. Precious!

Hope you have enjoyed today's card. As always, supplies will be listed below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I will see you back here later on this afternoon with another card showcasing a much different color palette for another card challenge.

Have a great day!
