Life is Good

Two posts in one day! Stop the press! This doesn't happen often but I guess when you are spending time with a friend who enjoys doing the same thing you get lots done!

This post is for a brand new challenge and it's all about TAGS which I love to make! You can find the challenge at Tag You're It Challenge.

For this challenge, we were given an inspiration tag to use to make one of our own.

I knew instantly that I had to use the same stamp set that she did but I would make it different. This stamp set is just so adorable and there are so many things you can do with it. I decided to make a very simple card using distress inks and water. I am just thrilled with how it turned out!

I've always been afraid of water and distress markers so I figured I would do something not too intimidating. I just added water to my paper and then pulled in the color that way. It was so easy and made a very subtle color. I just love it! It is a very clean and simple card which I struggle with all the time because I always want to add more. "More is less" has become one of my mottos these days.

I am excited about this new challenge and hope to play every single time there is a new one. If you get a chance, head over and check out all of the projects the new design team has made for you! You will NOT be disappointed. They are amazing!!

Hope you have a wonderful day and happy stampin!

Sending Lots of Love

Happy Sunday! It's already turning in to a beautiful day here in Georgia. I have been with one of my best friends all weekend and we have been working so hard to get things accomplished. We are very proud of ourselves because when we go on our scrapbooking retreats mostly all we do is talk. I know that is very hard to believe. A bunch of women getting together and just talking ;)

For today, I am sharing a card I made for the new challenge over at Sunday Stamps and this time its all about colors..... Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Basic Grey to be exact.

I do love the picture itself of the mountains and the water. Reminds me of some place far away and tropical. Makes me want to pack up and head there right now. It's been a while since we've had a long vacation with our boys. Putting that on the list of to-do's.

These colors match so well together! The card came together so quickly and I was very pleased with the outcome. The little envelopes are so cute and I wanted to dress them up a little more so I used a blender pen to color in some of the flaps. I think my favorite part of the whole card is the font used for the word Sending. It's just beautiful!

Thank you for taking the time to look today and hope that you will head over to the blog and join us!
We have a few rules but the most important is just have fun and enjoy!

Thanks A Bunch

Good morning! I am in my little slice of heaven this weekend. I am visiting my dear friend, Claire and we are going to get crafty. Well, after a few cups of coffee and lots of chit chat. We will be working on our swaps for Convention that is only a few weeks away. I wanted to share a card that I made for the SSS Wednesday Challenge! I've only entered this once because at the time I didn't have a whole lot of stamps but that has dramatically changed! Hee Hee!

The challenge is ANYTHING GOES with American Crafts as the feature. I love their products!!

At first I thought I was going to have to dig for something from AC but then I remembered that I had a lot of Project Life mini kits so I decided to pull those out and incorporate them on a card.

I used an older stamp set by Dear Lizzy but I'm sad to say that I've had it for over a year and never opened it. I loved it when I bought it but never had a reason to use it. I also didn't realize it went with the PL mini kit. Thankfully it all coordinated and I love the way it turned out. You can never have too many thank you cards lying around. I don't get to do subtle color cards often so these colors make me happy.

I hope this has inspired you to pull out any of your stamps that you haven't used at all or in a while. Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment letting me know what you think. I do love reading your comments!

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Hang In There

It's a happy Monday here in my world. We just got home from a fun weekend vacation with my parents. It was so nice and relaxing but it is good to be home. My parents surprised me and said they were coming back to stay with us until Wednesday!! Yahoo!!

I was able to get a lot of crafty things done over the weekend and that always makes me very happy!

For the card I am sharing today, I am playing along with The Paper Players sketch challenge.

I changed up a few things with the sketch and used some new papers and stamps from Stampin Up.

Here it is in all it's glory! Hee hee! I love when ideas in my head turn out just right! The moment that I got this stamp set I knew I wanted to use this cute possum upside down and the "hang in there" sentiment.

I used the new All Abloom paper pad from Stampin Up. The picture in the new catalog does not do these papers justice!! They are beautiful. Every single one of them are bursting with color.

I used the Pistachio Pudding polka dot piece as my background and added a flowered piece lined with 2 scalloped pieces of Daffodil Delight. The tag was die cut from a My Creative Time die and stamped with a tree using Pistachio Pudding ink from the Nuts About You hostess stamp set. The possum and sentiment are also from the stamp set and are stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and popped up for dimension. Aren't they all just adorable?!?! The arrows from the Lawn Fawn set Wish You Were Here are die cut from Strawberry Slush and Blushing  Bride.

I have just the right person to send this to and can't wait for them to get it in hopes they feel better.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that you will leave me a comment letting me know what you think as I love reading all of your comments.

Hope you have a great evening. Happy Stampin!
