DD#87- Black and Melon Mambo with option of Umbrellas

Yay for Saturday finally being here. I've got a few things that need to be done around the house but for the most part I plan on being in my craft room. I have a lot of new goodies that I want to use and a lot that need to be put away. I was in my room for a little bit last night and I came to the conclusion that I am obsessed with organizing my supplies ALL THE TIME!! It seems like I do it at least once a week. I can't wait to finally find all right places with everything so I can just be productive!

Speaking of being productive... It's time for another challenge over at Dynamic Duos. It is Black Tie week and I just love these colors! I could not believe that I did not have a die cut or stamp of an umbrella so I turned my trusty Silhouette. It never lets me down and always has what I need.

The colors are Black & Melon Mambo with the option of Umbrellas and here is my card for you.

I've got to stop finishing cards after the sun has left us for the day. I just can't figure out the lighting when it is dark. It's frustrating to have the tools but not know how to use them properly.

Recipe used:
Cardstock- SU Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Whisper White
Sentiment- See Ya Later stamp set coming soon in our Sale-A-Bration catalog
Umbrella & Boots- Silhouette cut file
 White gel pen
Wink of Stella clear glitter pen

I hope you will join us this week! If you need inspiration there is plenty from my Design Team friends. Head on over to their blogs and give them some love!

Our challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  We have a few rules to keep things fun and fair!
  1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrapbooking, digital, or crafts...
  2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.
  3. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like, except other colour challenges.
  4. Please add our graphic to your blog with a link back to us.
  5. Any offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted respectively. Thank you.
Have a great day and happy stampin!

Vacation is over

Vacation coming to an end is never fun. Heading back to reality just makes me sad but I guess you can avoid it forever. We have had an amazing time together and can't wait to do it again. So thankful for a hard working husband that makes all of this happen for us all the time.

Today I am sharing a quick card for The Friday Mashup challenge. I've participated in this one once before and love all of their challenges. So fun!

  1. Create a project using the Colors "Coastal Cabana, Real Red & Crumb Cake."
  2. Create a project using "Hearts & Arrows. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using "the above colors along with Hearts & Arrows.
I loved working on this card!!! It turned out so cute and although the lighting wasn't great when I took the picture I'm still pretty happy with it!

It does look better in person but the scenery behind it is what is really pretty. I would love to look out my window every single day and see that!

Hope you have a great day and happy stampin!

We found snow!!

Hello to all my crafty friends! What a fun weekend we are having here in Gatlinburg!! No real snow to get excited about but we found the fake stuff at Ober!

Here are a few pics of my boys enjoying it and having lots of fun.

They both had so much playing with each other in the snow. Noah got his first set of snow bibs and there is just something so adorable about a boy in snow bibs! It was so cold out there but watching their faces as they hit each other with snow balls was priceless!!

Today we are taking it easy and enjoying our cabin. NFL football comes on later this afternoon and we are excited about watching. Chris, Caleb and I are all pulling for the same teams which NEVER happens. Go Broncos and Go Seahawks!!

Sharing a card with you today for the challenge Hand Stamped Sentiments. I've never played along with this one before and I had fun using their colors choices to make my card.

Although I had a good time making the card, the colors were definitely a challenge. I'm not use to the bright colors and putting them together made it even harder. I'm glad I like a good challenge :)

I used natural lighting but I still had to doctor it up ALOT with Photoshop. Sometimes too much sun isn't good after all. I think it turned out pretty good. Crafting on vacation is even more fun that while I'm at home because I don't feel guilty for doing it.

Hope you all have a great day and happy stampin

DD #86 - Pool Party & Pink Pirouette

Good afternoon from Gatlinburg, Tennessee! We decided to take a last minute family trip due to a long weekend for the boys. We left on Thursday late in the afternoon and was hoping to be here by no later than 8:00. That so did not happen!

The National Park was closed due snow and ice. One would think that help by detour would have been available but it was not. We turned around and headed back the way we came. Along the way we ran smack into the biggest elk that we have ever seen. He was just standing in the middle of the road as if we were in his way. Truth be told he would have won if we were in a battle of the road. He stood about 8ft tall and was actually beautiful in a crazy huge animal kind of way.

Anyways.... we ended up on a hour detour but finally made it around 10:30. Our cabin is so cute and we are nestled up on a hill. Yesterday was a lazy day and it snowed a little. As soon as Noah saw the snow falling he immediately put on his outside gear to play in it. Here are a few pics of his adventure.

He thought it was hilarious to try and catch the snow flakes. I was the smart one and stood on the inside to take pictures. It was FREEZING out there!! All that mattered was that he was having a good time. My oldest was ready for inches and inches of snow but unfortunately that was not the case yesterday. He was ready for it though, just in case.

How he is already 13 just blows my mind. There are days that I think he should only be 5 without a care in the world. Why do our babies have to grow up so fast?

We are headed to Ober, Gatlinburg in a bit to go snow tubing and build a snowman <--- Noah's choice. None of us know how to ski so we aren't even going to attempt it. I'll just stick with the simple stuff.

Before we head off, I wanted to share the card I made for this weeks Dynamic Duos challenge. The colors that we are working with are

I had a bit of trouble coming up with something at first. I'm not a big fan of subtle colors. Probably because I have boys and we don't do subtle on anything especially colors. I have to say though that I think my card turned out pretty cute.

I love the look of filling in the hexagon dies with my SU hexagon embossing folder. What I found out though is mine doesn't look as good when I "fussy" cut them. Since I am a lover of ALL crafty things I had a die from another favorite that matched the inside perfectly!! It's like magic :)

Hope this challenges you to use colors that you may not reach for often. Sometimes you make something that you are actually pretty proud of in the end.

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Love You

Good morning! I can't believe it's already Thursday! This week has just flown by!

I have felt so good about things I've accomplished this week. Doctor appointments have been scheduled that were long overdue. I like to procrastinate on those type of things, unfortunately. Rooms have been cleaned out and things put back in their home so there's not so much clutter. New goals for the New Year!

It has also been a lot of fun being in my craft room getting cards made, using my craft supplies, and just doing what I love. Today I'm coming to you with a new challenge (well, it's new to me) that has the best color combination.... Strawberry Slush, Night of Navy and Silver! These colors are awesome together.

Since Valentines Day is right around the corner, I find myself reaching for my supplies that are hearts,  colors of red or pink and sentiments that are all about love.

Can you see why I love these colors so much? They just go together so well. Makes for a great card!

Recipe used:

Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Night of Navy- SU Cardstock
Falling Hearts Stencil & Love You die cut - Simon Says Stamp
Banner Die Cut - SU Hearts A Flutter
Embossing Folder - Sizzix
Scallop Border Punch - SU
Hearts Die Cut - Paper Smooches
Glitter - SU
White twine - SU

Hope this inspires you to get some Valentines Day cards ready!

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Snow Happy

Who's on a roll with blog posts this week? This girl right here!! I shouldn't have even typed that though in case I jinx myself. Eek! I feel pretty good about it though. I think I have the hang of this and it's fun! Hee, hee.

Today's card turned out so adorable, in my opinion. It makes me want snow so I can build a snowman. The weather man here in Cumming, Ga keeps messing with my emotions by telling us we "might" get snow. I try not to get excited every time I see it on my weather app but I'm quite certain I will always get a little giddy when I see it.

I guess until we get snow this year I will have to stick with using snowmen, snowflakes and white puffy paint to get the feel of snow. The first challenge that I'm entering my card in to for this week is Merry Monday Challenge. It is a Christmas card challenge. Yes, you read it correctly! The goal of this challenge is to get you ready for Christmas! If you create a card every week you will not be crazy getting all your cards done once that time rolls around. You will have more than enough in your stash! So excited about doing this.

My take on the challenge

I love this snowman from Peachy Keen Stamps. Their faces are just so adorable and can be used in so many different ways. I'm not great at coloring so I just tried a little bit for now. I liked him being mostly white since he is made with snow, after all.

I am also entering this card in to 2 more challenges. Both of which I've never entered in to before so it's just excitement all around.

The other two are for Seize the Sketch and Just Us Girls.

Paper piercing is a little out of my comfort zone but it was a lot of fun and so easy!! I'm excited about finding all of these new challenges to really use my creativity.

Hope these inspire you as well!

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Bundle of Joy

Sharing a quick project today for a challenge over at Unscripted Sketches. It's a fun sketch and I'm excited to share it with you.

Here is my take on the sketch

The paper and stamps are from Lawn Fawn and the twine is from Stampin Up. I, unfortunately, don't know many people who are having babies at this time in my life so this may just sit around my room for a while. Maybe someone will eventually have one that I know.

Hope this inspired you to make a card for someone today.

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Happy Bird-day

It's the start of another week! The weekends just fly even when you don't have a whole lot going on. I've got lots of plans this week to get a lot of things done. Lots of organization to be done in this house and I'm excited about new things to come with our family. Praying, praying, praying is what I will be doing a lot of in the upcoming months.

I have another project to share with you today. It is for the Lawnscaping Challenge and it's all about celebrations.... birthdays, babies, graduations, etc. This is my first time joining in on this challenge and I'm excited I finally have some Lawn Fawn products to use.

I decided to go with a birthday theme for my cards. One can never have enough birthday cards.

Aren't those birds just the cutest? I love their glasses and used glossy accents to make them look more like glass. The birds are from one of Lawn Fawn's new sets called Science of Love and they come with coordinating dies. So incredibly adorable on so many levels. The paper used is from one of their 6x6 paper pads called Pink Lemonade and I love the Spring colors.

Hope I've inspired you today to make something cheery and fun!

Have a great day and happy stampin!

I Only Have Eyes For You/PPA & FMS

Happy Sunday morning. Hope you are having a great weekend. My oldest has his first official basketball game of the season today. We are hoping for a win! Go Bulldogs!

I am sharing another card today and this time it's for Valentines Day! I love all the pinks, reds and hearts for this holiday. It's so good not to be using any Christmas paper or colors right now. I got so burned out using the same colors for so many months.

I am using the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts for my card today. The set that I am using is from Lawn Fawn and it is a new one that I acquired for Christmas from my hunny! He knows that stamps are the way to my heart.

I think one of my goals for this year (as if I need another one) would be to learn how to make my pictures look better. I have Photoshop Elements but I really need a class on how to use lighting, shadows, contrast, etc. It would be very beneficial! I apologize in advance for the "not so good" pictures of my card. I will work on it, I promise.

Hope this inspired you to pull out your Valentines Day stuff and get to work on some cards for this fun holiday! Have a great day!

Happy Stampin

Happy Birthday To You/CCMC #285

Hello and happy Saturday. It's been pretty dreary around here today which I feel is a perfect excuse to play in my craft room. I haven't been very creative lately and I have really missed it. I miss the challenges and creating new things. Some of my girlfriends are in Houston at the Stampin Up Leadership Convention and have been sharing all of the new things that are coming out! It is pretty exciting stuff!

For today I am sharing a birthday card that I have made for the Create with Connie & Mary challenge. I haven't participated in this one in a while and although I wasn't a huge fan of the sketch I did feel like it would challenge me and I was right! I had a tough time with this one although my card turned out pretty simple.

The sketch for this challenge is

And here is my card

I will have to say that it turned out much better than I imagined in my head. The paper used is called Retro Fresh (#132993) along with the journaling tag (#133526) and washi tape (#133001). I am in love with this line of paper! The colors are so pretty together! I punched out the flowers with our Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309) and used Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247) in the middle of the flowers.

I want to try and send out as many birthday cards as I can this year to family and friends. If I have them readily available then I have no excuse! Hope this inspires you to get out your supplies to make one yourself.

You can find all the supplies listed at my website HERE. Hope you have a fabulous day!

DD#85-Summer Starfruit and Garden Green {Rich Yellow & Vibrant Green}

Happy New Year! I can't believe that it is already 2014! Last year went by so fast. I am hoping that this year goes by a little slower so I can enjoy things a little more.

I have been at my parents house since the day after Christmas. The flu hit us all very hard and attacked almost all of my family members. My Mama got it the worst and ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. I am so thankful that it wasn't anything worse and that she was there to get the best help possible.

Today I am showcasing a card using the colors, Summer Starfruit and Garden Green for the new challenge over at Dynamic Duos. The colors are bright and cheery so it helped me feel a little better since I've been under the weather for a few days.

Thank you.
Please check out the rest of my friends on my design team to see their lovely projects.
