Hello friends. Thanks for stopping by the blog today.
Sharing another card today showcasing the new stamps and dies from the Essentials by Ellen new release. I can not get enough of them so far. Everything about them are beautiful.
The card for today is inspiration from the Colour Me Card Challenge. You can find details here.
I love the colors of Fall so these are right up my alley. This is my absolute favorite time of year! I pulled out my paper, stamps, dies and went to work. This idea has been in my head for a while.
I used Crumb Cake as my card base with Very Vanilla as a layer. I used some Neenah Solar White card stock to apply my color. I wanted to the sky part of the card to be Hello Honey so I applied it using a mini blending tool from Tim Holtz that helps applying color so much easier.
After the color was blended the way I wanted it I added different sized stars from the Merry & Bright stamp set in Hello Honey for a tone on tone look. Next I cut out hills using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders in Crumb Cake. I popped one of them up with foam tape. I love the stitched lines that it creates giving it more character.
I cut out the houses from the Home & Hearth dies using Cherry Cobbler card stock from Stampin Up. I placed them along the hillsides at different levels and colored one with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.
Once I figured out what I wanted to do with the hills and houses I had to figure out the placement of my sentiment. I decided to do an inlay technique with the Christmas die using Very Vanilla card stock. Next I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Very Vanilla piece and cut it in to a banner placing it above the Christmas die. Once I put it all together I cut out a few of the hearts from Home & Hearth dies in Cherry Cobbler to add a little more color to the sky. I also added some glitter to the stars with clear Wink of Stella pen.
I love the scene and how it turned out. I hope this inspires you to create an idea that may have been swimming around in your head or use a challenge as an inspiration. Being creative is so much fun! Thank you for stopping and I would love if you would leave a comment letting me know what you think. As always, all supplies used are listed and linked below.
