Today starts a new color challenge at Sunday Stamps and the colors are fabulous!! We are challenging you using Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry, and Gold!
I love that all the challenges are moving in to Fall and Autumn colors. It's the best time of the year!
For my card, I didn't exactly go the Fall or Autumn route but more of a wintery card with a snowman. I bought a very cute stamp set from Lawn Fawn a few months back and felt it was time to pull it out.
It is called Making Frosty Friends and you can find it here. It is sold out right now but you can choose to be notified when it's back in stock.
To make the card, I started out with a 4.25 x 11.0 Very Vanilla card base to make a top folding card. I stamped out the snowman on Very Vanilla, the hat and scarf on Blackberry Bliss and the mittens on Garden green card stock. I do not have the matching dies that coordinate with the stamps so I had to fussy cut all of the parts. I popped the snowman up on pop dots, stamped his hands, and added all his cute accessories.
I cut out a strip of Garden Green card stock and then a slightly bigger strip of vellum to adhere on top of the green piece. I stamped the sentiment on the vellum in Rich Razzleberry and then adhered it under the snowman.
To finish it off, I stamped different size snowflakes in gold embossing powder and used a few gold sequins to make it sparkle. I haven't always been a fan of gold but it is definitely growing on me.
I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch challenge blog to help with the design of my card.
This is a new challenge for me and after checking out their blog I really like all of their sketches so I think I will be entering more of their challenges. Never can have too much inspiration.
Hope you can join us this week at Sunday Stamps and play with these beautiful colors. We can't wait to see what you create and share with us. Please check out what the rest of the DT has made as well.
