To Thine Own Shelf

Hello friends. Hope you are having a great day.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Simon Says Stamp September card kit. I absolutely without a doubt love this kit this month. Okay I think I say that every month but this time it is really true! Everything about it is so much fun!

If you want to find out more about this kit, please click the picture to be taken to the website.

I see cards all the time that are simple. This girl has a hard time with simple. I like embellishments.
I like ribbon, buttons, sequines, etc. The more I can put on a card the better. I did something simple.

And I love it. Love it so much.

Here is my recipe:

1. Cut kraft card stock to 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2 making it a top folding card.
2. Cut Old Olive, Crushed Curry, and Pacific Point card stock into 1/4 strips and adhere them diagonally to a scrap piece of paper.
3. Use the rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Frame and cut it using the Big Shot.
4. Next cut a white piece of paper to 4 x 5.25 and place the stripes around it.
5. Stamp the shelf, sentiment and plant base in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
6. Stamp the plant in Old Olive ink.
7. Stamp books in Pacific Point, Crushed Curry and Old Olive inks.
8. Tie linen thread around white stamped piece and tie in to a small bow.
9. I popped up the white stamped piece on foam dimensionals and adhered to kraft card base.
10. Stand back and admire your very cute card :)

Now I will admit I wanted to add sequins to all that white space but I just wouldn't allow myself to walk over to the sequins. Out of sight, out of mind.

There's a color challenge going on over at Color Throwdown right now and it helped me choose these colors for my card. These are colors that I never would have paired together any other time.

Hope this inspired you to create something out of your comfort zone like I did with a color combo. As always, the supplies used will be listed below.

Happy Stampin,
Angel
