Celebrate the Joy

Good morning and welcome! Today I am sharing a Christmas card for the Tis the Season challenge. We have an inspiration picture for you to use to make your card. There are only 132 days left and it will be here before you know it.

I was so excited that this inspiration had a banner. There is just something fun about creating a banner as there is so much you can do with one. I decided to pull out new DSP that is in the upcoming SU holiday catalog due out at the end of this month! There are some amazing things that you are going to love. I also used a stamp set that isn't necessarily new but it is to me. It has beautiful snow flakes and the sentiments are beautiful as well.

I love the silver, blue and white color combo. It reminds me of a snowy day in Winter.

The card base is Whisper White card stock and is cut to a top folding card (4.25 x 5.5). The first layer is Soft Sky and it is cut to 4 x 5.25. I used the snowflakes from the Endless Wishes set to make a tone on tone look. I stamped them in Versamark ink and coated them with clear embossing powder. In person it gives a shiny effect and looks really cool. I reached for my Petite Pennants Builder Punch to make my banner.

I used washi tape from the All Is Calm line to create the back of the banner and Whisper White on the front. I was going to put 3 different words on the banners but it ended up not working out so I just went with one. The snowflakes and sentiments were stamped using Smoky Slate stamp pad. The sentiment at the top is also stamped in Smoky Slate. White baker's twine and silver metallic clothespins were used to hang the banner. To finish off the card, I used mini rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes to give it some extra bling. At the very last minute, I decided to draw around the edges of the card with a Smoky Slate marker just to tie it all together.

I think that this card could be easily duplicated with a few different elements added here and there. Could this be my family Christmas card? We shall see.

Hope you will join us this week! We would love to see what you come up with from our inspiration.
