Hello Monday. Another week is here and it's going to be another busy one. Basketball camp games start tomorrow and last until Friday with two games a day. The boy says he is ready to win these games. I worked on scrubbing bathrooms and cleaning my youngest boys room today since they all needed a good cleaning.
After I finished cleaning, I decided to take a little rest and work on something crafty. I have found a new challenge blog called Tag You're It so I have had tags on the brain. I submitted some of my work to be a guest designer and on the new design team. I'm excited about the possibility but even if I don't make it this time I will keep trying.
I worked on a tag for friend that is having some dental work done today and she is very nervous. I wanted to make something cheery and happy which I think I did just right.
I have had a love/hate relationship with the whole watercolor craze that is going on right now. Not because it's not beautiful just because I love to hate trying new things that look hard. I've done it a few times and have loved it each time so I don't know what my problem is other than just being stubborn.
For the tag today, I used distress inks and a little water to give it a watercolor look. The colors I used were Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry. I used them for both the background and the flowers. The flowers are from a Simon Says Stamp set called Favorite Flowers and this set is becoming one of my favorites!!
The middle of the flowers are heat embossed with white embossing powder from Recollections called Snow. It's one of my favorites as well. The leaves were done in Mowed Lawn distress ink. Everything was cut out with scissors to give the flowers a whimsical fun look. The sentiment is also from that fun SSS set. I added some pale pink My Minds Eye Now & Then Mildred "With You" enamel dots that I thought matched everything perfectly. I tied some white bakers twine to finish off the tag.
I can't wait to put this on a small gift bag for my friend to enjoy. Let me know if you have any questions and as always, please leave me a comment letting me know what you think about today's inspiration. I love reading all of your comments!
