Love You

Hello again. I have 2 blog posts to share with you today. My first one today was all about being a new designer on the Sunday Stamps challenge blog. You can find that post here.

This blog post is all about a new challenge called The Cutting Edge Challenge! It's all about dies!!

They are having a launch party and a guest designer contest which I have decided to enter! So fun!

These are the designer's cards. We are to find a card and create our own from their inspiration.

I loved all of the cards here but chose one that caught my eye first. I loved the ones with the balloons. All of the colors were so vibrant against the black and grey at the bottom. I decided to use flowers instead of balloons but stayed very close to the design.

I used the Simon Says Stamp set called Favorite Flowers. It came in the June 2014 card kit and I just love it!! The flowers are so fun and whimsical. I used SSS Doll Pink, Cotton Candy, Audrey Blue and Surf Blue inks. I also added in Soft Pool and Bubblegum inks from Hero Arts. I love how they all paired so well together. I fussy cut all of them and arranged them at the top of the card like the balloons were in my inspiration card.

I used the Chevron embossing folder from SU to mimic the chevron pattern on the card. Then I used Spun Sugar distress ink to soften up the card a bit. I used a SSS die cut to make the love you part on my vellum piece across the card.

It took me a while to fall in love with it but once I took a picture of it and my son told me that it was a very pretty card I knew it was a good one. I'm excited about entering it into the contest.

Head on over to the blog if you are interested in also entering. All of the launch party events are noted there as well. It should be a fun time and a great challenge blog to play along with in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions. I love reading all of your comments and would love to know what you think of my card today.

Happy Stampin,
