Hello and good afternoon friends. It's been a busy day of basketball and lunch with friends. Thankfully all the games were early instead of later today. We didn't do so well but I guess you can't win them all.
Today I am sharing a new challenge that is going on over at the Tis the Season blog. It's all about circles and the option of making a square card.
For my card, I used papers from a Teresa Collins 6x6 paper pad called Christmas Home. I decided right off that I was going to make a shaker card. The circle in the middle just seemed perfect for this technique!
I chose to make a square card for the optional trimming in the challenge. I used Lawn Fawn's circle stackables dies for the shaker portion. For the background of the circle, I used a (retired) embossing folder from SU called Starburst as I've always thought it looked like snow. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Lawn Fawn set called Walk in the Park. I stamped the sentiment in white embossing powder from Recollections called Snow. I tried to figure out a way to add the light pole that is in the set as well but it just didn't look right. I adhered everything together and added some silver sequins inside.
The ribbon was just another added touch as I felt the circle looked lonesome on the card all by itself. The seam binding ribbon is from Stampin Up and the color is called Cherry Cobbler. It's one of my favorite colors!
This is a pretty simple card and I can't wait to send it out to someone special for Christmas!
