Hi friends! Today's post will be short and sweet. I just wanted to share a quick birthday card for a boy. One of my best friends son is turning 12 today and I thought I would send him a fun card.
It's hard to make a masculine card because I enjoy putting sequins, ribbon and/or glitter on my cards. Also trying to stay away from bright colors is hard. I stuck with kraft, black, white and a little bit of red.
The kraft and white paper are from Simon Says Stamp May/June card kits. The game remotes, dude and polka dots are from their All Boy stamp set. I used the Happy Birthday from a Lawn Fawn set called Beep Boop Birthday. That set has robots in it but they looked a little too young for a 12 year old. You know at that age it's all about being cool so I figured game remotes would be good enough.
I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp everything. I colored in the remotes with some Prismacolor colored pencils. It's my first time using them with gamsol to blend. There wasn't a whole lot of blending to do here but it helped smooth all the colors out and give it a soft look. I finished it off by adding stitched lines around the circle with a SU black marker. I popped the front panel up on a pop dots and attached it to the card.
I really like how it turned out and I hope that he does as well. Thanks for looking today. I hope that you will leave me a comment to let me know what you think or if you have any questions. I do love reading your comments.
