For You

Happy Easter weekend! I imagine that everyone is very busy today with Easter egg hunts and parties. We have one planned for today but the weather isn't looking to be on our side. It rained pretty much all day yesterday and we have another 100% chance of rain today. I don't think those are great conditions to hide and find eggs. Maybe we will get lucky.

There's a new challenge starting today at Dynamic Duos. It is bold colors with a pop of another option. I was excited about the other option as I have wanted to use this color for a while now. When Archivers was going out of business, I took advantage of buying items that I usually wouldn't. Since the prices were lower, I felt better about buying them. I stocked up on gold embossing powder and gold metallic spray. I've just never incorporated gold into my projects but I've always wanted to. Thanks to Lesley or Anne Marie for choosing these colors so I can branch out and try something new.

The colors were dark and it made me long for brighter colors but the gold did help with all it's sparkle. The gold was tricky to photograph as it wanted to give off a glare. I've decided that I have to start using my DSLR camera instead of my iPhone if I want to get good quality photos!

So once again, I apologize for the quality of this photo. It seems too dark but even trying to edit it in Photoshop Elements didn't help. There's a lot that I need to take the time to learn. It's finding the time to do it all.

To add the gold to the sides of the card, I smooshed <--- yes, that's a word Versamark to the sides and then added gold embossing powder. It turned out smooth and just oh so pretty!! I was a little giddy about how it turned out. Once I fell in love with it I had to use it anyway that I could find fit.

Even though the colors were not bright and vibrant I do love the way it turned out. I used the sketch from Just Add Ink to make my card and here is that sketch.

Hopefully you will find time to join us this week and challenge yourself with these colors!

Head on over to the other ladies on the design team and see what they have to share with you today.

Our challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  We have a few rules to keep things fun and fair!

1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrapbooking, digital, or crafts...

2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.

3. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like, except other colour challenges.

4. Please add our graphic to your blog with a link back to us.

5. Any offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted respectively. Thank you.

Happy Stampin,
