Website Wednesday

We've made it to the middle of the week! That means it's time to share another website with you that I enjoy! Hopefully last weeks website at A Bowl Full of Lemons inspired you to get more organized in different parts of your life.

For this week, I am sharing a site that is near and dear to my heart. This one belongs to my incredibly talented friend, Claire. Her website is Claire Creates Cards.

(Click on the above picture and it will take you to her beautiful site)

I will give you a little bit of background information before I send you over to check out her beautiful work.

I have only known Claire for about 2 years. You wouldn't know it if you saw our interaction on a daily basis because there's no telling how many times we communicate a day. I met her through a mutual friend who we also scrapbook with twice a year. I introduced her to card making with Stampin Up and she was instantly hooked. The rest is history...

She created a blog to share her work and it has taken off like wildfire. She enters numerous card challenges every single week and has won many blog badges which in the blog world are like gold and we broadcast them for all to see! If you are a blogger, you are totally shaking your head right now agreeing with me.

Her attention to detail and the pride that she has is shown in every project that she makes. I am very proud of her achievements thus far and I can only see her improving as the days go by.

This is one of her most recent "wins" that I would like to share so you can see the talent for yourself.

I ask that you take the time to visit her blog, take a look around, leave a comment or two or three, and maybe even follow her to keep up with what she is sharing!

Is there someone that inspires you and you would like to share it with me? I would love to check them out. Leave a comment with their information and I will share the love!

Have a great evening and happy stampin!

Tag 'Em Tuesday

Hi friends! It's time for another Tag 'Em Tuesday. This is the day of the week where I showcase tags. Any tags that my brain can think of or that I find to inspire me.

Today I was inspired by the Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit by Stampin Up. This is a monthly subscription that shows up at your door and it's a surprise as to what is inside! It took me a while to get on board but I'm so glad that I finally did.

Here is a look at what you get the first month that you sign up.

You get enough material to make 4 cards. You are also given instructions on how to make the specific project for that month. I will show you the cards that I made but instead of making a 4th card, I decided to make 2 tags. So cool, right?

With the exception of moving the stamp to a different spot, the first card is an example of the project they send you in your kit.

I decided to spice up the next one a bit. I cut the polka dotted paper in half and used a sheet of Daffodil Delight for the bottom piece. I punched out a 1 inch circle using some of the polka dotted paper and adhered it to the green starburst. Then I added some white dash lines to the big scalloped border and called this one finished.

For the last card, I turned the card horizontal for a completely different look. This time I used all of the polka dotted paper. Added some dots and dash lines to the green scallop border to make it stand out a bit. I did add an embellishment that didn't come in the kit but it was too cute to pass up. The arrow is used like a paper clip to add a fun dimension.

Now to my fun tags! Can you believe that these were actually meant to be cards? I cut the grey card base in half and the cut the polka dot in half as well. I played around with all the left over pieces to fit them where I thought they looked best. I only had one piece left of the green starburst, green scallop border and yellow flag so I just cut them all in half. Unfortunately, I did only have one button left and couldn't cut that in half. I decided that since I didn't have the button I would use the stamp from our Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to make it look like splatters of paint.

I still felt like the tag without the button needed something else so I added some lines around the tag and it added just the right touch! I rounded some of the edges with our corner rounder to give them some extra character. To finish them both off, I hole punched a small hole and strung some twine through it.

I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself for thinking outside the box! These are going to be so cute to give away on a gift to a friend. I could even attached them to a white card base and use them on a card. I see an idea forming in my head as I type!!

Find out more about the Paper Pumpkin subscription HERE. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at!

Happy Stampin,

I am linking up with the party over at My Pumpkin Challenge which is featuring TAGS! So fun!

Manic Mondays

Hi friends! Another Monday has come and is almost gone. This was a rather fun Monday. Noah and I had a play date with a girlfriend and her 2 boys. One is 4 and another is 18 months. They both have the same smiles and are absolutely precious! Noah still has a hard time with playing nice at times. Due to his inability to say what he wants or needs, he tends to use his hands which causes him to upset not only others but his Mama as well. It's a work in progress that I am praying he will grow out of soon. He is such a sweet boy and I hate that this behavior makes it look different.

Our weekend was low key but overall fun. One of my best friends, Paula was celebrating her 50th birthday. I promise when you post the pictures of the party you won't believe that she is 50! She is one of my most beautiful friends and I am so thankful for her Godly friendship.

Mellisa and I went over to her house on Friday evening to get a start on decorating and food prepping. When you get the three of us together it usually ends with a lot of laughter and picking at one another. It's what makes our friendship one of a kind.

This was an adult/teenager party so we took Noah to my uncles so he could spend the night. He packed his back pack with just about every toy he could find, put it on and told me he was ready to go.

Now it was a totally different story once we actually got there. I think in his little mind he thought we were ALL going to Aunt Katie's. Once Daddy said bye to him it was instant meltdown. Thankfully, Aunt Katie came to the rescue by grabbing him and walking him right inside. After about 30 minutes, he calmed down.

The party, decorations and food turned out so beautifully. One of the decorations was something I made specifically for Paula. The sentiment was perfect for her!

I have had this plate and stand for at least 6-8 years. My sister in law was a Southern Living consultant and I earned it having a party for her. It is one of my favorite decorations during holidays. You use decorative ribbon for each holiday and dry erase markers to decorate it. This time I decided to pull out my black vinyl and use that to decorate. I found this sentiment in the Silhouette Studio store and knew it was perfect! Next I punched out some flowers and glued those on. I love the pop of color against the black and white! She loved it which made me happy to have made it for her!

Here are a few more pictures to share our fun night with you!

These were a HUGE hit! One minute they were there and the next the were not! Some were carrot cake, vanilla cake, and red velvet cake. I didn't have a problem biting in to any of those!

Her sweet husband had this cake made for her to look like a birthday gift. It was a yummy red velvet on the inside and it was so yummy!

I snapped this very cute picture of mother and daughter. I think it is so adorable!

Here is the birthday girl with her beautiful smile.

Caleb had to get a picture with Mrs. Paula. He loves her too!

Paula and her very sweet husband. He is a very loving and supportive husband who loves his wife very much!

This is by far my most favorite picture. I love each and every one of these ladies! They all hold a special place in my heart. When I first moved to Georgia, I had a very hard time letting go of moving away from all my family and friends. I joined a ladies small group through our local church and this is where I found comfort and love. We have all grown very close over the last couple of years. God led me to them and I am thankful for that every day!

Hope you had a great weekend with your family or friends. Come back tomorrow for Tag 'Em Tuesday.

Happy Stampin!

Time To Say Goodbye

Good morning stampin friends! Hope this post finds you happy and not too busy on this beautiful Saturday morning. I say that in hopes that wherever you are today that it is beautiful with no snow, rain or gloominess. Here in Georgia we are expecting a lot of sunshine the next few days and I'll take it!

Today is a bittersweet day for the Design Team at Dynamic Duos. It is our last challenge working together. It is also the last challenge for Dynamic Duos as a challenge blog. Yes, you read that correctly. Feel free to go back and re-read that again just to make sure you read it right. I was sad to hear that it was closing as well but in the end all good things must come to an end.

So for the last and final challenge we have beautiful colors to share with you and help you design a project to showcase your talent.

See I told you that they were beautiful. I wouldn't lead you astray. I saw the colors and was so excited to get my paper and design something so share with you.

I wanted to showcase all the colors as much as possible so I figured that making a background with them would make that happen. I cut all the strips the same size and just glued them to the card base. Punched out some different sized hearts and glued those in different parts of the card. I added some Crystal Effects and white dash lines to a few hearts and called it a day. I also used a stamp set from a Hostess Set for my sentiment and heat embossed it with Pool Party embossing powder. All in all, it's one of my favorite cards. It's simple yet packs a punch.

I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Lesley and Anne Marie for allowing me to be a part of their journey with this amazing challenge blog. They made a dream come true and raise my confidence to a new level. I have met amazing women along the way and I respect each and everyone of them as crafters. They are all amazingly talented and I couldn't feel more honored to call them friends.

As I sign off on my last challenge for the Dynamic Duos, I want to say that if you have a dream or a goal to GO FOR IT. Don't tell yourself that you can't. Put your mind to it and make it happen. It may happen the first time you try or it may take a few times but in the end you will be proud of yourself for not giving up.

I tried to think of a good quote to leave you with and this is the one that immediately came to mind.

Now head on over to the rest of my wonderful design team friends and check out what they have made for you today! Find some time this week to join us and I can't wait to see what you create with these colors!
Our challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  We have a few rules to keep things fun and fair!

TTS 15 - It's a Wintry Mix!

Good evening fellow scrappers! I am late on my blog post for today. I apologize. It's been a busy week and it just didn't get up this morning. The toddler and I had a play date this afternoon and those are very important. Anyone that has a toddler will understand the importance of allowing their energy to leave their body :)

For today I am sharing a new challenge for the Tis the Season Challenge Blog....

I am loving these colors together! They remind me of winter and and that is why I chose to go with snowflakes on my card for this challenge. I used an old Sizzix embossing folder to give texture to the background. I then found a cut file from my Silhouette online store to cut out bigger snowflakes.

I heat embossed the sentiment from a stamp set I have from My Creative Time and this is one I haven't even used so it was good to put it to use! Exact reason why I love this challenge. I don't have to wait to use my Christmas products just a few months out of the year!!

Hope you can find the time to pull out your Christmas supplies and join us over the next 2 weeks!

We do have a few challenge rules we'd like to ask you to follow:
  1. Your project must be a new Christmas project created for this challenge.
  2. We ask that you provide a link back to our site or use the Challenge Graphic within your post.
  3. If you combine challenges please limit them to no more then 4 including ours.
The Challenges are open for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time to play along. We will close the challenge on Tuesday May, 6th at 12pm EST.

Look forward to seeing what you create! Have a great day and happy stampin!

Website Wednesday

Happy middle day of the week or as most like to call it Hump Day! I so just said it like the camel in the Geico commercial in my head. I'm sure you just did as well. It's too funny not to do it.

Today is another new segment in which I'm calling Website Wednesday. I love finding new websites. I am always looking on Blogger, Pinterest, and/or YouTube. I love all of the ideas out there. Anything to do with recipes, organization, crafts, family, etc I am a sucker for!

So, I will share a website with you every Wednesday that I have recently found or one that I have followed for a while and just love so you can love it too.

Today I am sharing one that I found a few months back but just recently really devoured everything it has to offer. I am not an organized person by nature. I want to be one so badly and I have read just about every book and blog out there that tells me how to be one. I have never really succeeded. Until now....

I am officially in love with the website A Bowl Full of Lemons!!! Toni is the creator of this magnificent blog and she is nothing short of amazing. Her ideas for getting organized are spot on, the printables she offers for cleaning are so fun, and she even offers a series on how paying bills can be cheerful! It is way too much to try and type so please head on over to her blog and check it out! You. Will. Not. Be. Disappointed!!

I was so motivated with her cleaning and organization series that I kind of combined a craft that is some what of a problem in our kitchen. My teenager is guilty of just leaving dishes in the sink once they are done. I mean, why not, Mom will come behind him and clean it up eventually. Well, not anymore! He always says that he "isn't sure if the dishwasher is clean or dirty" so that's why he just leaves it in the sink. How many of you think that is a really good excuse raise your hand!!

I came up with a cute craft to help him know and anyone else that happens to want to know as well.

I found a piece of chipboard that I had laying around and it was exactly the size I wanted.

I covered it with some Designer Series Paper that is retired by Stampin Up that went perfectly!

I bought chalkboard vinyl from Hobby Lobby the other day and cut it out with a frame lit to make it pretty. He could care less that it is pretty but I always take the chance when I have it make something pretty.

I used 2 different patterns for the "Clean" and "Dirty" side because that just makes sense, right? Then I punched 2 holes in the sides to attach the ribbon.

I distressed the sides with Black Soot distress ink. I do love those little finger daubers!

And this is what I came up with! I just think it turned out adorable!

I attached a Command Damage Free Hanging Mini Hook to my dishwasher and popped that cute little sign on there. I also cleaned all of the finger prints off first before the pictures. No one needs to see that mess! Eek!

I can say that this has really worked. One of the things that Toni suggests doing every single day is loading the dishwasher before bed so it is clean and ready to be emptied the next morning. I am proud to say that since Monday I have done this every single day. Yes, it's only be 2 1/2 days but really it is something to be proud of. The hubby and teenager has not left dishes in the sink as they know that they are now dirty. And I loooooove it!

I hope that this has inspired you to check out Toni's blog. You can also follow her on FB, Instagram and Pinterest for more ideas! Getting organized, cleaning and paying bills isn't fun but she finds a way to make it a little more enjoyable. Thank you, Toni!!

I have linked this post up with a few linky parties at A Bowl Full of Lemons, Glued to my Crafts & Lou Lou Girls. You can find a link to each of their websites over to the right. Enjoy!

Happy Stampin!

Tag Em Tuesday

Hello friends! I'm back today to share with you another segment on my blog called Tag Em Tuesday. That is me trying to be quirky. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. We will just have to see how this one goes. I just thought it was cuter than Tag Tuesday or Tag It Tuesday. If you have any other thoughts, let me know. I'm always up for other creative ideas.

I like working with tags. There are so many things that you can use them for and everyone needs a tag. You can use it for so many different reasons. We are always giving gifts and instead of giving a card I think that adding a cute tag works just as well.

When I started thinking about what tags I would make today the first thing that came to mind was BIRTHDAYS! Everyone has a birthday or knows someone that has a birthday. Tags are always needed for a birthday gift. I am actually going to a birthday party this weekend so these will work perfect!

Stampin Up released their Retiring List yesterday. It's all of the products that we are getting rid of to make room for our new annual catalog arriving in June. If interested, you can see that list HERE!

One of my most favorite sets are retiring. I've had it for a while and I've used it a lot. It was one of my first wooden sets that I used with my Stamp-a-ma-jig. What is that you say? Well, you just wait and I'll show you in a few days! Hee hee.

The set is called Create A Cupcake. It also has a coordinating punch that goes along with it.

I promise this is a stamp set and punch that will be your "go to" for birthday cards, tags and even scrapbook pages! It has everything that you need.

Here are 3 tags that I made last night while catching up on my TV from Sunday night. I decided to go with all the same theme but shake them up  a bit on each one.

There's something fabulous about your birthday {must be you}

It's not about how many candle you blow out but how many cupcakes you get!

Happy Birthday

How cute, right? I am in love with how they turned out. I want to make tons of them and just have them on hand for the next birthday party. I love having tags and cards just waiting to be used so I'm not scrambling at the store looking for something. Plus, have you looked for a card lately? They are horribly expensive and borderline funny. Why not make something yourself and put something meaningful on it. Homemade goes a long way.

I hope that you enjoyed Tag Em Tuesday. I do like the segment name but it just sounds a whole lot better in my head then when I look at it on the screen. It'll stay for now and eventually it will look good even on screen.

Happy Stampin!
