DD #94 - Black & More Mustard

Happy Saturday! It's been a busy morning here with cleaning rooms, bathrooms and finishing up laundry for the week. I'm sure that just like it is in your house...laundry is never-ending! I think there is a leprechaun that sneaks in to our house every other night or so and adds extra clothes to our baskets! Our maybe it's just that I live with a stinky teenage boy and a toddler who gets dirty very easily.

It's time for another Dynamic Duos  challenge! It's Black Tie week so they colors are dark. I do like my bright colors but these ended up working out pretty well on my card! I was also able to use a stamp set that I've never used.

I had to use the color Crushed Curry as More Mustard is a retired color and I just didn't have any laying around. They are very similar in color so it worked out just fine.

I looked at this card over and over and over until I had to finally stop obsessing about it. It is definitely out of my comfort zone but I guess that's what challenges are all about, right? I said when I first bought this stamp set that I would never sit and cut this flower out. Well, I proved myself wrong! It actually wasn't all that bad. A lot easier than I thought and I love the layered look it gives the card.

I hope that you will join us this week. Even if you think these colors don't work for you just try it. You never know. Try to also find a stamp set you've never used or rarely use. You could find that you actually really like it!

Head on over to the ladies that I work with on this design team and check out their creations!

Our challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  We have a few rules to keep things fun and fair!

1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrapbooking, digital, or crafts...

2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.

3. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like, except other colour challenges.

4. Please add our graphic to your blog with a link back to us.

5. Any offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted respectively. Thank you.

Happy Stampin'

  1. I love your card! You're right, these colours were pretty intense. The layered flower looks great! worth all the fussy cutting. And I like your challenge to break out a new stamp set, or try a new colour combo. That's what keeps us growing.

  2. The laundry does slow down when they go away to college but oh my, when they come home...I am overwhelmed wondering how I kept up when they were little! I pulled out my Dahlia and then saw your awesome one! Love the dot background, Angel:)

  3. Angel, this card is so bold and beautiful! I love the dahlia in the mustard color!

  4. Angel, I had a challenge with these colors myself! You did a perfect job. Love your flower! :)

  5. Love the Dahlia with all of your other details- so pretty!!

  6. Very pretty Angel. Love the Dahlia.

Thank you so much for your comments. Hope you will come back soon!
