Trick or Treat

Good afternoon friends! A very quick blog post to show my project for Dynamic Duos Challenge this week. My oldest tried out for his middle school basketball team this morning so I have been nervous ALL day about finding out the results this afternoon. He's worked so hard and I've prayed that if it's Gods will he will make it.

The challenge presented to us was

and I came up with the cutest gift card holder. I bought this die over a year ago and I have never used it. Shame on me, I know. I guess the first step to admitting I have a problem is to say it out loud to everyone. Haha.

My oldest will turn 13 on Halloween so this is the gift card holder I will use for his gift card. Clearly once they get this age either cash or a gift card is the easiest thing to give them. They have their own opinions and want to buy their own stuff!

Thank you for looking today. You can shop my online store 24/7 at My Stampin' World.

Hope you have a great day and happy stampin!

Pumpkin Patch & FMS Sketch 108

We took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday! The weather is finally starting to feel like Fall. I have been looking forward to this for months! It was time to pull out the scarves, boots and long sleeved shirts. Those things couldn't make this girl any happier!!

The pumpkin patch was PACKED! And by packed I mean I thought we were at Disney World. In the 3 years we've been there it has never been like that. Thankfully we were still able to get our pumpkins and take pictures.

I think he may have been overwhelmed when he walked in because there are hundreds of pumpkins in every size. He finally found one that was just his size and he could pick up himself.

He found a wheelbarrow along the way, that wasn't ours, and decided to help them out. Thankfully they had a sense of humor.

Caleb and his cousin, Madi. They are both growing up so fast. She is 14 and he is soon to be 13. Here they both look like they are about to graduate from high school.

Our families are so lucky and blessed to live so close to each other. My uncle and his family moved about 20 minutes from us about 4-6 months ago. I clearly don't recall when the exact date was so I am estimating.

My oldest is almost as tall as me. I'm sure in the next few months he will catch up with me and possibly pass me. He grows just that fast. I still can't believe its been almost 13 years ago that I welcomed him in to my world.

Noah finally found one that he could hold without having to strain too hard. It was his perfect size.

I was a fabulous way to start out a Sunday. I'm thankful I have family to share it with.

I was able to sneak a little crafting in after we got back and everyone laid down to rest. Sunday afternoons are the best for napping. Too bad I never take advantage of it because my mind is constantly in crafting mode.

The challenge is from Freshly Made Sketches and it looks like this

And here is my take on the sketch

I love the Chalk Talk stamp set and die cuts! They are perfect for any card!

Thanks for looking today. Hope you are having a great start to your week.

Beautiful Fall Day

Hello to all! It is a beautiful day here in N Georgia. The high today is only 67 and sunny skies. We are taking advantage of it and headed to a big pumpkin patch that has ginormous pumpkins, hay rides and plenty of places to take pictures.

Before we head out, I wanted to share a card that I am entering in to 2 challenges. One is a Halloween theme with ABC Challenges and the other is a sketch theme with Unscripted Sketches.

The sketch looked a little like this

And here is my card

It's a simple card but I LOVED the skeleton and he worked perfect with the sketch.

Thank you for looking today. Hope its a beautiful day where you are today.

PPA176- A Sketch Challenge

Another day, another challenge. I am trying to do as many as possible but life just gets in the way. I am now working 3 days a week part time so getting adjusted to that takes time away from my crafting. How dare work take time away from my craft time! Just seems like a sin!

I have a hard time balancing my time. Especially balancing my time to get everything done but still have time to do things for myself. I mean, I know that I need to do laundry but making a card for a challenge sounds so much better. I know I need to clean toilets but finishing a scrapbook is what I really want to do. Sound familiar to anyone out there??

In my defense, today I did start a load of laundry, loaded the dishwasher and fed my family breakfast and lunch. I also had time to make a card and watch football at the same time. It's been a good day so far!

I made a card for Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. The sketch was different but fun to make.

The colors that I chose isn't two that I would normally put together but I saw another challenge and they were using the colors. They are Midnight Muse, Pool Party and Whisper White. Just something about those colors together that crisp and clean.

I'm watching my Gators get beat by Missouri as I'm typing this blog post. It makes me sad that they are not doing well this year. I guess we can win them every year so we will let someone else win it this year. I'm hoping that working on challenges for the rest of the day will keep my spirits high.

Thanks for taking the time to look today.

Dynamic Duos Challenge #74

Just wanted to share a quick card today for the challenge over at Dynamic Duos. I am getting in at the very last minute. 2 hours to be exact!

These colors were definitely a challenge for me but in the end I really liked the way the card turned out.

The duo color challenge was

This is my card I created for the challenge.

I love the Stampin Up' has matching stamp sets and punches. It makes things so much easier than pulling out the scissors. I am not good when it comes to cutting a straight line so trying to cut out a flower would be torture.

Thank you for taking the time to look today. You can view my online store at My Stampin World.

Sunday Stuff

Hello friends and happy Sunday! This past week has been really busy so I haven't much time to enter any challenges or do many crafty projects. I started working 3 days at the preschool last week which I am enjoying so much. My oldest, Caleb went on a weekend church retreat so we just had one child to entertain this weekend. The fair has been in town and we only had a few days before it ended so we decided to take our youngest yesterday morning. It's been a few years since I've been and I figured he would enjoy all the sounds, rides and just being outside. We learned a few things about our sweet 3 year old.

1. Taking him to a petting zoo makes for a very happy little boy.

He was so excited when he saw the cows that he just started yelling "cows so MOO" and he basically tried to climb in the pen with them. It was definitely a cute moment.

I had to keep reminding him to be sweet as when he would reach in to pet them he would kind of swat them. I didn't think that would be a good idea as they were eating and we didn't need to leave there with one less finger.

You could buy food for the sheep and goats. I didn't think he would like them eating out of his hand but as usual he completely surprised me. He thought it was hilarious. One of the larger sheep did not think we were feeding him fast enough so he kept nudging us to go faster. It was a fun experience with him.

2. He loves to ride ponies. The one thing his dad and I did not think he would do!

He jumped right up there and gave us the biggest smile. I didn't have the camera ready yet so when it was time to actually look at me and smile he had other things to do. Oh well, you can't get every smile.

3. Rides are not his favorite but he did a few.

He rode the choo choo train but only if one of us were in his eye sight. He did not like looking up and not see one of us. Once the ride was over he was DONE!

We were able to get him on the ride that went over the whole fair. He was not happy when we first got on so thankfully he had a water gun and I just happened to have a water bottle. Squirting other people with water as we rode along made the ride a little easier and I no longer had the fear of him falling from the sky.

After that ride was over, we were all ready to head home. We had to take pictures by the hay bells and pumpkins before we left. Thankfully I got a few smiles here.

I love this time of year. Everything about it makes me feel complete. Being with family is so important.

I was able to participate in a challenge that just happens to end this evening so I'm glad that I got in before the cut off. The challenge is for Mojo Monday and the sketch looks like this

I hate that I wasn't able to really put a whole lot of extra thought into this sketch but it really is a good one. I just did what it looked like without thinking too much out of the box. Here is what I came up with

It turned out to be a simple but pretty card. I know exactly who I'm going to send it to and I know she will love it. Thanks for looking today. If you have any questions about the products used, just ask! You can also visit my online shop at My Stampin World to see all of the available products.

Autumn Wishes - The Friday Mashup Challenge

Whew! What a week it has been! I think I could lay down and take a nap and sleep until Friday. One of the teachers that I work for has been out due to her daughter breaking her arm last weekend. I have been filling in for her and boy is it hard work. I love those 4 & 5 year olds but they are a lot of work!!! I love how opinionated they are and how they aren't afraid to say whatever they are thinking. Even though it has been challenging I have loved every minute of it.

I haven't had much time this week to create like I want to but I was able to make this card for The Friday Mashup challenge. The colors in the sketch are not ones I would normally put together but it was fun creating.

Here is the Mashup challenge:

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

  1. Create a project with using the colors "Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron & Early Espresso."
  2. Create a project using a "Fruit Image."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using the above "Color Combo & a Fruit Image. "

The card that I finally managed to design and feel comfortable sharing is not my best work but I am pleased with how it turned out. Fruit is not something I turn to when making a card so that on top of the colors was definitely a challenge.

The pears are from one of my favorite stamp sets called Perfectly Preserved. It has the cutest mason jar look alike in it that I always find a reason to use! Mason jars are around every where you turn. They have so many different ways to use and decorate them.
