Happy Birthday

May is a busy month. Okay, I am being nice. May is a crazy busy month. Just in my family alone there are 7 birthdays. Then we have Mother's Day. Two friends birthday. And then to make it even crazier, Chris and I decided to get married in May as well. It keeps us on our toes.

I was able to play for a good bit in my scrapbook room this past weekend because it was rainy all day long. I knew I had to make 2 birthday cards so I went ahead and got those done so they were off of my mind.

This is the first one:

The paper used here is all from a paper pack from My Mind's Eye called Happy Go Lucky. I loved all the bright colors that went along with the navy. The butterfly, small flowers, twine, jewels and Happy Birthday sentiment are all from Stampin' Up.

I did my best to try using a bunch of different patterned papers to give it a fun look and to spark my creativity a little more. I had a fun time with this one. I even took it a step further and decorated the envelope. Since I was hand delivering it I didn't have to worry about not having an address on it.

The stamp set on the front of the card is from Paper Smooches. I love the font and can see myself using these a lot! I also decided to use washi tape instead of licking the back. YUCK! My friend loved the card and that makes me happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day. I love being the center of attention when it comes to my boys. I love thinking about my on Mother who by the way will only answer to Mama. She told me a long time ago that she was not a Mother or a Mom. I kind of like it that way though. Mama just seems so down to earth and that is exactly what she is.

I sent her a text this morning telling her how much she meant to me and how thankful I am for her. Just a text you say. Listen, if I had called her and tried to actually say those words I would have sounded like a blubbering idiot. Needless to say, I got it honest. She's a crier as well.

My Mama doesn't give herself any credit but when I tell you that she has a heart of gold. I mean it.

Gold plated heart sent straight from God.

She is one of the most selfless people I know. She loves God with all her heart and isn't afraid to let you know that. She loves her husband, her kids and her grandkids with every ounce of her being. She can save money like nobody's business <--- Okay, so that part is not real sentimental but it still amazes me nonetheless.

I love my Mama. She tells me she is proud of me and that makes me strive to be not only a better Mama but a better woman all around.

So on this Mother's Mama's Day, I am a proud daughter. Proud of the woman that she is to me and my children each and every day.
