My Re-Organized Craft Room

Remember this?

Eek! It pains me to even look at it. From far away it doesn't look all that bad but trust me, just trust me.
After a few days, it is finally like I want it. Well, let's be honest, there are a few things I would still change but like my hubby says "It's a marathon, not a sprint." Here's the newest panoramic view with some up close and personal pictures as well.

Much better! I look at this space especially in panorama view and realize just how blessed I am with a space like this and a very sweet husband who allows me to take up this much space in our house. He's probably just thankful that it's out of our sitting area space in our bedroom.

I thought about doing a video and showing every nook and cranny but I have yet to dive in to the editing of videos so I opted for pictures instead. Maybe.... Possibly.... Eventually, I'll take the plunge and do a video. So for now, here are some pics to enjoy or possibly to give you some ideas of your own.

My shelf of shame... I love Stampin' Up rubber stamps. It's probably one of the main reasons I am a consultant. Well, the stamps, paper, ink pad, etc......

I love my shelving units. One is from Making Memories and the other I bought from Michaels.

Basket from Hobby Lobby that holds some die cuts and embossing folders.

Two book cases that I stole from my husbands office one day when I talked him in to not needing them anymore and that I needed them more. Hee

My large collection of Cricut cartridges along with a Gypsy that hasn't been used in a very long time. Debating on whether or not to part with them since I've fallen in love with my Cameo.

Another basket full of die cuts that I've collected over years and years.

Awesome paper racks that holds all of my 12x12 patterned paper. So if I am being completely honest here, not ALL of my paper are on these racks. Where is it all hiding??? Who knows.....

I've just started using washi tape and I love it. This is all I have for now but I'm sure there is more in my future as it's so much fun to use.

6x6 paper pad collection from all different companies.

This was bought years and I mean years ago at Home Depot. It had been sitting under my desk for far too long being unused. It now houses brads, buttons, twine, paint brushes and still has a few drawers ready to be filled.

This is where I have set up all of my Project Life memorabilia. For those of you not familiar with Project Life, please visit Becky Higgin's blog here to find out more.

A few shelves that I hung to display work that I like to showcase.

My Big Shot and sewing machine. One of these gets used far more than the other. Can you guess which one collects dust?? It isn't the black one :)

I like to print my photos at home so these are my 2 photo printers. Love both of them equally.

My favorite picture of my Gangy (great-grandmother). She was an amazing woman who I miss dearly.

Top of my desk (also confiscated from my husbands office).

My Cricut and Silhouette Cameo. They get along just find sitting next to one another.

The desk never looks this clean!!!

So, that's it. Everything is nice and neat. Which means it's time to make it messy again. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking!

Professional Craft Room Organizer

Who likes to organize their craft room to the point of being a tad bit obsessive? That would be Yours Truly! It's something that I feel needs to be done at least every six, four, okay three months! I'm not afraid to admit it. I love it. It feels like a brand new outfit after it's all done. But it doesn't last long because as soon as I have a bright idea (which happens quite often) I just mess it up again. I think that goes with the territory of being blessed with a large craft room.

I cleaned my house most of the weekend so I felt that my room needed an update. I still hadn't unpacked from a crop weekend 3 weeks ago <---- that's another blog for another day. So what better day to start than today.

Here is my before picture. It may not look like a disaster to you but this spells horror movie to me. After pics to come soon or maybe a few days. I'm sure that a 2, 12 or 36 year old will get my attention some time in between.

This is serious a big task for the Monday after time change!! :)

Obsessions

I love celebrating all the holidays during the year. It gives me a reason to be creative and well, to be honest, it gives me a reason to decorate my mantle. That is what they are for, right? I mean that's why I've always had to have a mantle in any house we've lived in.

I also kind of have an obsession with a flag for every season hanging outside my house. I'm sure that my neighbors have tagged "that house with the different flags." They still love me all the same.

Here is a quick look at my mantle and a fun project that my friend told me about that she found from Pinterest. That's a whole other obsession that we won't talk about just yet ;)

Simple white photo frame turned cute decor. The arrows are cute from my Silhouette Cameo. Seriously love that machine. Yes, another obsession but who is keeping count. Not me!

What are these beauties? Glad you asked. These are ginger ale bottles that my oldest had to drink when he was sick a few weeks back and of coarse I had to save them. Both my husband and son thought I was crazy until they saw what I made from them. They aren't your ordinary decorations but I loved the color of the green and I instantly thought of St. Patty's Day and yes, my mantle.

Here's my mantle all finished and I just love it. I am very LUCKY for all that God has blesses me with every single day.

My Pinterest inspired craft was 4 small styrofoam hearts from Hobby Lobby, absolutely gorgeous chevron green ribbon and hot glue. Easy peasy!

It's a four leaf clover. Clever, huh! I wish I could take credit for this but I can not. This is where I found this adorable idea from here. It looks so cute hanging on our door and my 12 year actually noticed it and commented that it was cute. That is a BIG deal!!

Now it's time to find Easter decor ideas as it's at the end of this month. Don't they know it's too much to have to holidays in one month? Off to Pinterest I go....

Baby card

Finding out a friend is pregnant is exciting. Finding a friend who has been trying for a long time is pregnant is over the moon exciting. As soon as I found out this wonderful news, I knew I had to send her a card. Can you tell that I find any reason I can to be crafty and make a card? It's just so much fun!

Here is the card that I made her

I'm sure that by seeing the pink you realize that IT'S A GIRL! That made making this card even more fun because I got to use pink, pearls and ribbon. I don't get to do that often with having 2 boys. That is frowned upon in our house so when I get the opportunity, I run with it. I enjoyed making this card and I am so happy for my friend.

Congrats Viki and Tom! I'm so happy for the both of you.

CHARMing Boutique

I love when good things happen to good people. I especially love when one of those good people just happen to be a friend of mine. Not just any friend but one of those friends that you know will always be there. A special kind of friend. Let me back up (a few) 16 or so years ago to high school. Yes, this is how long I've known this friend. I don't exactly recall how long it's been since we've known each other but it's been a long time. We were good friends in high school. After graduation, we both went our separate ways. She got married and had babies while I had a baby and got married. A little backwards, huh. Anyways, years later we connected with this pretty awesome website called Facebook. One of the many reasons I love it. There are so many people that I lost contact with during this thing we call life that I am able to keep in contact with now.

This friend of mine is Joy. Such an appropriate name for her. She is one of the sweetest, selfless, and good hearted people that I know. I'm lucky to call her my friend. She is a wife, mother and now a store owner! That sounds good but the best part is that she is a newlywed to the love of her life, a mother to a 15 year old and an 8 year old AND she is pregnant!! Now that sounds even better, right? Talk about Wonder Woman. So why would she want to take on owning a store? Because it was her dream. That's what life is all about. Living it to its fullest and doing everything you can to make the most of it. I admire her in so many ways. The year 2012 was a very tough year for her so I'm excited to see all that 2013 has to offer for her and her family.

CHARM Boutique started out as an online business which did very well. She decided to take it to the next level by having a storefront. After looking at many different locations she found the one that worked for her. It's in a historical part of Jacksonville, Florida. It's going to be perfect for her business.
The grand opening was yesterday and these are a couple of pictures of what it looks like.

So cute, isn't it! I can't wait to see it in person! My mom works right down the street from her new store and went by yesterday after work. She couldn't say enough good things about it.  She met Joy and her husband, Corey for the first time and had just as good things to say about each of them. If I couldn't be there in person the next best person to send would be my mom. She raved about the necklace and bracelet that she purchased. I see a new dress or accessory in my future when I visit in April.

Since I couldn't be there in person I wanted to make her something for the store and this is what I came up with

I thought it turned out so good. I found the picture frame at Hobby Lobby and had the idea in my head the moment I found it. Usually it takes me a little while to come up with an idea but these die cuts of cute dresses was screaming Charm Boutique! Her color palette is yellow, blue and grey. She should be receiving her package some time this afternoon and I can't wait for her to get it.

I've said it a couple of times and I'll say it again... I am so proud of my friend. She is truly an inspiration and an example of a woman who sets her mind on something and gets it done. I am so thankful that she has a supportive husband who is just as excited about this journey as she is.

Please visit her website or Facebook page to see all of her beautiful stuff. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoy your dream, Joy! I love you.

Happy Birthday Card

My dear friends daughter turned 13 yesterday. She is officially the mom of a teenager! I thought haha to myself but then realized that I will be the mom of one in about 8 months. I won't be thinking haha at that point. Kids grow up way too fast!

I pulled together a few items to make her a cute birthday card. She loves cute dresses so I thought that the new Dress Up Framelits was perfect for this card.

I can't wait to hear how she liked it. She's very creative as well so she will appreciate a good hand made card like I do. Happy Birthday Caroline!
