Dynamic Duos #84 {Black Tie Week-Black & Cherry with the OPTION of Sparkle!}

Here we are. The last weekend before Christmas.

I am officially done as of this afternoon around 1:00. I can finally breathe a little and start enjoying all the festivities. I spent most of the afternoon wrapping gifts to get them under the tree. It just looks so bare under there with nothing there.

I wanted to share my card that I made for the challenge over at Dynamic Duos this week.

These colors are so pretty together and look really elegant. I had a fun time putting my card together. Thankfully I found a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that helped make this a little easier.

I hope you can join us this week even though it's going to be very very busy. These colors are just beautiful!!

This challenge will end on Thursday, December 26 at 12:00pm PST. Before you get started, head on over to the other ladies on this design team with me.

Merry Christmas to all my crafty friends!!

Subtly Yours Week - DD#83

Are there seriously on 10 more days left until Christmas? It's just crazy talk to me. All our decorations are up so the house looks very festive but there are not any wrapped presents under the tree YET. We have gifts in the house but I haven't gotten around to wrapping them. My husband loves Amazon and at this time of the year I love Amazon as well. I just add things to the wish list and he purchases. It's AMAZING.

In between all the Christmas bustle, I take time to get in my craft room to get things done. This is my place to come and just be me. I like to say I come to be alone but my 3 year old finds me everywhere!

This week at Dynamic Duos we are hosting our Subtly Yours challenge and the colors are

I really love Crumb Cake and I think it goes great with just about any color! Marina Mist is not one that I reach for often so it was nice to use something different. I've been working on Christmas treats for school, craft fairs and friends. I decided it was time to work on something for my boys. I pulled out a retired die from my stash and put it to good use.

I absolutely love the way it turned out!! I know it's not the traditional colors of Christmas but for boys the colors work just perfectly. I am going to give them to the boys on Christmas Eve. Small treats and gift cards will make them so happy.

I hope this inspires you to pull out a color you may not use as much or a die that may be collecting dust. You may forget how much you really like them once you use it again.

Our challenge has started and will end on Thursday, December 19 at noon PST. I hope you will join us. Please head on over to our blog to check out all of my wonderful design team members projects.

Happy Stampin!

DD#82 Primrose Petals & Gumball Green

Good afternoon friends. So happy that the weekend is finally here. They never last long enough though. Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Dynamic Duos blog. It is Bold & Cheery colors.

I definitely thought about non-traditional Christmas colors for my card. I was sick for the most part of last week so I didn't have a lot of creative juices flowing. I was happy to find the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches because it helped me with the design of my card. I am thankful to be feeling better especially since I have to work on my sisters wedding invitations this week. Lots to do.

Even though it is very simple I feel like the colors make everything stand out.

Please check out the rest of my friends who have done a wonderful job with these colors. Enjoy!

The challenge is open until Thursday at 12pm PST. Hope you will join us this week.

Happy Stampin'

Wishing You A Happy New Year - FMS #115

I've taken a break from challenges the past few weeks. Mostly because of vacation, holidays and just being busy. It's safe to say that I miss them. I miss challenging myself and trying out so many different sketches and colors.

Today I am sharing a card for the challenge over at Pals Paper Arts. It is a color challenge and they are beautiful together!

I love color challenges because they put together colors that I would never thought up myself. These are so elegant and I had so much fun working with them to make a card. Here is what I came up with:

I love the way it turned out. The snowflake stamps and dies have to be one of my favorites! There are so many different ways you can use them to make so many different projects. I die cut my snowflakes first and then added the stamp behind it to give it some dimension. This was a first and something I will be trying again.

Hope you enjoyed my card for today. Are you sending out handmade Christmas cards this year or store bought ones? One year I am going to sit down and make mine but until that day comes I'll be putting pictures of my boys on a card and sending it to all my loved ones.

You can view my online store for all the above products used at HERE.

DD #81 Midnight Muse and Your Choice

Good afternoon friends. It's been a very busy week around my house. Between getting back from Vegas on Tuesday, family arriving on Wednesday, Thanksgiving on Thursday and shopping, shopping, shopping! We are spending one last day together as a family watching football and enjoying our time together.

I found time to complete my card for this weeks challenge at Dynamic Duos. The colors are

I do love the color Midnight Muse. It took me forever to pick the color I loved the most to pair with it. A lot of colors seem to mix well. I ended up going with Pistachio Pudding. I wanted to do something that went with well for a Christmas theme because I wanted to use my new snowflake stamps and dies. I think it turned out quite well.

I love these snowflakes and see some fun projects for Christmas in the very near future. I also love the way the clear embossing powder looks on the Midnight Muse and Pistachio Pudding papers. It turned out well for a very quick card that I threw together so I could get back to shopping and to the family.

Please check out my fellow design team members and their awesome creations for this week.....

DD#79- Black Tie Week

Hi crafty friends!! Sorry that this post is up so late. I forgot to schedule it earlier in the week and I have had a busy Saturday with my little man. My husband took our oldest camping this weekend. I think they needed a little man time. You know like things to do with fire, knives and wood. I'm more than happy to stay home and entertain the 3 year old.

The challenge this week is so elegant to me. I had so much fun making my card. I was able to pull out some embossing powder and make things shiny. That always makes a girl happy. Shiny and silver!!

I will admit that I did panic a little when I looked in my paper stash and realized that I didn't have any Smoky Slate. Not even a scrap so that I could add it somewhere. I placed an order right away! Hee Hee! That's when I decided to just go with silver, black and white. You can never go wrong with those colors.

This card makes me smile. From the silver trees to the white snowflakes falling. It's just festive. If you ask me what I'm going to do with it I have no answer for you. I may add it as a decoration when I put my Christmas decor up. I have quite a bit of cards that I can do that with as I have made a lot of cards the past few months.

Hope this card inspired you to pull out your black and silver stuff and make a Christmas card. We would also love to see you join us at Dynamic Duos this week and show off your talent.

Check out the rest of my friends on the design team. Lots of talented ladies that I get to work with every week. I am a lucky girl!

Merry Christmas with Seize the Sketch #8

I am in the mood for Christmas really early this year. I've already started listening to Christmas music. It just makes me happy. I've thought about decorating my house this upcoming weekend since my husband and oldest will be camping. They may think I've gone crazy when they get home but it will be so pretty. I'll keep you updated on that progress.

Being that I am in such a jolly mood I decided to make a Christmas card. I'm playing along with a new challenge (for me) called Seize the Sketch and the sketch is a simple one this time around.

I had an especially fun time with the card I made. I am doing my best to use ALL of the paper, stamps, and embellishments that have been sitting in my scrap room for days, weeks, months, and years. Yes, YEARS! It's sad and also nice at the same time. It's like I have my own little store. Shh, don't tell me husband that. He will tell me I have enough the time I "need" something.

I am IN LOVE with this little elf. He is just so cute and everything about him makes me smile. He looks so jolly and excited about Christmas. We have something in common! I am glad that I remembered I had him stashed away. Hope he made you smile today as well.

Happy Stampin!

Be Thankful DD#78

Good Afternoon and Good Morning to some friends. Hope this post finds you having a great day no matter what time of the day it is where you are.

It is my second week as a Design Team for Dynamic Duos and I have to tell you it's been amazing. I love seeing all of your entries first hand and commenting on your cards. I know what it feels like to have someone make a nice comment about your hard work. We have another challenge starting today and I have to say I love these colors. They remind me of Fall and since it's my favorite season of the year I had a fun time making a card.

It is "Subtly Yours" week and the color challenge is

I always find myself reaching for Crumb Cake as it's a great "go to" color for just about anything. I haven't used Always Artichoke in a while so it was good to use it. Actually most of the stuff used on my card for this week was either used for the first time or I had to wipe a little bit of dust off the package because it hadn't been used in a while. I need to "shop my stash" more often instead of buying more but then again what's the fun in that, right?

I kept my card simple but I loved the way it turned out.

I love the whimsical look of the banners and the font of the thankful. The die set that this goes with is one of my favorites! The hearts have some glossy accents to make them look shiny. After I took a picture of the card I realized it made the hearts look black but I can promise you they are Always Artichoke.

I shared a project a few days ago with these same colors because I think it went perfect. Once I made the card I couldn't stop myself from making a 3D project as well. Hope this inspires you to take things around your house one step further and make them pretty.

Hope you will join us this week at Dynamic Duos Challenge and have lots of fun with this one!

Give Thanks

Good morning blog friends! I wanted to share a quick project that I threw together yesterday afternoon. Now that Halloween is over and decorations are put away. Okay, maybe not physically put away but in my head they are and that counts for something, right? I am now fully focused on Fall. One of my favorite times of the year other than Christmas.

We had a FL/GA football party this past weekend. As some of you may know, I am a big Gator fan so living in Georgia makes that kind of difficult but in a fun way. Most of the people that we invited are Dawgs fans so if you can make light of football it's always fun to have a rivalry party.

My cousin came and brought me the most beautiful basket with a Fall table runner, dish towels, potpourri and a candle. I've always disliked the stickers on the front of the big candle jars so I decided to peel it off and make my own decorative "sticker."

It turned out really cute if I say so myself.

I love the Autumn Accents Big Shot dies that we have in our catalog. They also happen to be on our weekly deals this week. It's a really good deal and you should snag it up if you can. Visit my online store 24/7 to check it out... My Stampin World.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my project today. Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Extra Exciting Announcement

Guess who has had a dream for a long time! Guess whose dream has finally come true!

That would be ME, ME, ME! My dream for a very long time was to be a part of a Design Team! I've always thought about applying but never thought I was good enough. A few weeks ago I took the plunge and guess what.... someone that I was good enough and asked me to be a part of their team.

That someone was Dynamic Duos!! Yes, that is right! I am part of their Design Team. I keep pinching myself to make sure that I am not dreaming. It really is true and I couldn't be more excited!

So without further ado, here is our challenge for this week.

These colors were a challenge for me but after sitting and staring in to space for a few days, I finally came up with something thanks to the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. The past week has been busy with my husband having sinus surgery, my oldest is now an official teenager, and trick or treating! Even with all of the craziness I kept focused and had so much fun making this card.

We have had a very dreary week thus far so trying to find good lighting has been trouble. I want to eventually get a lighting box but it's not the cards right now. I apologize for the dark lighting of this one.

The new challenge is up and ready for you to join us this week. Have fun with this one and please check out the new Design Team members blogs at Dynamic Duos to see what they created.

Our challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  We have a few rules to keep things fun and fair!
  1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrapbooking, digital, or crafts...
  2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.

Trick or Treat

Good afternoon friends! A very quick blog post to show my project for Dynamic Duos Challenge this week. My oldest tried out for his middle school basketball team this morning so I have been nervous ALL day about finding out the results this afternoon. He's worked so hard and I've prayed that if it's Gods will he will make it.

The challenge presented to us was

and I came up with the cutest gift card holder. I bought this die over a year ago and I have never used it. Shame on me, I know. I guess the first step to admitting I have a problem is to say it out loud to everyone. Haha.

My oldest will turn 13 on Halloween so this is the gift card holder I will use for his gift card. Clearly once they get this age either cash or a gift card is the easiest thing to give them. They have their own opinions and want to buy their own stuff!

Thank you for looking today. You can shop my online store 24/7 at My Stampin' World.

Hope you have a great day and happy stampin!

Pumpkin Patch & FMS Sketch 108

We took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday! The weather is finally starting to feel like Fall. I have been looking forward to this for months! It was time to pull out the scarves, boots and long sleeved shirts. Those things couldn't make this girl any happier!!

The pumpkin patch was PACKED! And by packed I mean I thought we were at Disney World. In the 3 years we've been there it has never been like that. Thankfully we were still able to get our pumpkins and take pictures.

I think he may have been overwhelmed when he walked in because there are hundreds of pumpkins in every size. He finally found one that was just his size and he could pick up himself.

He found a wheelbarrow along the way, that wasn't ours, and decided to help them out. Thankfully they had a sense of humor.

Caleb and his cousin, Madi. They are both growing up so fast. She is 14 and he is soon to be 13. Here they both look like they are about to graduate from high school.

Our families are so lucky and blessed to live so close to each other. My uncle and his family moved about 20 minutes from us about 4-6 months ago. I clearly don't recall when the exact date was so I am estimating.

My oldest is almost as tall as me. I'm sure in the next few months he will catch up with me and possibly pass me. He grows just that fast. I still can't believe its been almost 13 years ago that I welcomed him in to my world.

Noah finally found one that he could hold without having to strain too hard. It was his perfect size.

I was a fabulous way to start out a Sunday. I'm thankful I have family to share it with.

I was able to sneak a little crafting in after we got back and everyone laid down to rest. Sunday afternoons are the best for napping. Too bad I never take advantage of it because my mind is constantly in crafting mode.

The challenge is from Freshly Made Sketches and it looks like this

And here is my take on the sketch

I love the Chalk Talk stamp set and die cuts! They are perfect for any card!

Thanks for looking today. Hope you are having a great start to your week.

Beautiful Fall Day

Hello to all! It is a beautiful day here in N Georgia. The high today is only 67 and sunny skies. We are taking advantage of it and headed to a big pumpkin patch that has ginormous pumpkins, hay rides and plenty of places to take pictures.

Before we head out, I wanted to share a card that I am entering in to 2 challenges. One is a Halloween theme with ABC Challenges and the other is a sketch theme with Unscripted Sketches.

The sketch looked a little like this

And here is my card

It's a simple card but I LOVED the skeleton and he worked perfect with the sketch.

Thank you for looking today. Hope its a beautiful day where you are today.

Happy Stampin'
